Leadership Style
As a design leader, I serve as a mentor, cheerleader, and sounding board for my team to help them become the best designers they can be. I also work cross-functionally with the broader organization to ensure my team is producing high-quality work on-time.
Active Coaching
Sharing feedback with your team shouldn't happen only during performance reviews.
By providing feedback often in 1:1s, weekly team meetings, and design reviews, I have the opportunity to coach designers through challenging situations and help them through to the other side.
Taking Responsibility and Driving Action
I take full responsibility for the work my team delivers and collaborate cross-functionally to see it through to production.
This translates to sharing business context with my team, adhering to timelines, and iterating quickly to accommodate edits and changes from stakeholders.
Facilitating Professional Development
To help my team level up their skills, I constantly seek out opportunities for them to grow.
Whether it's by leading a design book club, facilitating monthly lunch-and-learns, planning annual design retreats, finding conferences, or running workshops, I enjoy prioritizing my team's continuing education.
Crafting a Culture of Excellence
By cultivating a culture of safety and open-mindedness, I enable designers to create their best work.
A highly-effective team is one that not only delivers exceptional work, but that also feels energized and empowered in their roles, which is one of my primary goals as a design leader.
